Live For Speed - Version 0.6H brings a new look for Westhill and more!

After the still-unreleased VW Scirocco was delayed towards the end of 2008, The online PC racing simulator Live For Speed has seen updates to some cars, open configurations and 3D functionality in recent years, but no new content. That's changed now as Version 0.6H introduces the long-awaited update for the Westhill track environment.

This is arguably the biggest content update to happen in Live For Speed for over half a decade, and it is fair to say it exceeded the expectations of most players. Not only has the International circuit been updated, there is a new National configuration as well as two new small tracks best suited for karting and smaller cars.

While the update to the Westhill track is impressive, it is also worth taking note of the updates outside the course. There are roads surrounding the circuit giving the game an open world feel in an English countryside. There are roundabouts, car parks, junctions, bridges and tunnels to explore. Ideal for cruising, drifting and creating rally stage layouts.

Other significant updates include an increase of grid sizes, with up to 40 cars on a race track at once. The number has increased for Blackwood Rallycross and the Autocross layout to 30 and 20 respectively. Speaking of Autocross, the editor has been updated to increase functionality and allow more objects to be put on track.

More images of the updated track are available on the screenshots page and all this content is a free upgrade for S2 license holders. It is nice to see the developers are still updating Live For Speed with free content nearly a decade after S2 was released! Hopefully the wait might not be much longer for further additions and eventually the S3 license upgrade.
