Vision GT spotlight: Lexus LF-LC GT

For the first instalment of the Vision GT spotlight on Frize Feed, we are going to take a look at one of the newest additions to the Vision Gran Turismo project in Gran Turismo 6, the Lexus LF-LC GT. Based on the Lexus LF-LC concept from 2012, the GT variant is modified for racing in the Super GT GT3 series. It has the performance to match its striking looks with 612 HP in a package weighing just over a ton. Compared to a road going Lexus RC-F, the LF-LC GT has a 142hp advantage and shifts over 700 kg less weight.

A cool unique feature the LF-LC has is a rainbow brush livery plastered around the exterior. Better yet, you can respray the body and the streaks will still be there. I painted mine in Gran Turismo Blau to see how a different colour combination will look and I'm satisfied with the result!

The engine sounds quite good, as has been the trend for most recent additions to GT6. The race tuned V8 revs eagerly all the way to the 13,000rpm redline and the electric motor can be heard more clearly when you lift off the throttle.

Driving wise, the LF-LC rewards you for driving on the limit, ensure you are alert when exiting a tight corner, it can get tail happy. The brakes are sharp, but it is best suited to straight line braking otherwise the car can become unsettled and the tyres start squealing to remind you it can't be thrown into a corner like a Red Bull X-car.

The closest rival of the LF-LC GT would be the Race-Spec Toyota FT-1 VGT. Both are space-age interpretations Super GT GT3 cars and should be largely similar in terms of performance. I'm interested to see how they stack up against each other, be on the look out for a comparision in the near future!
