Traffic Racer has been on mobile app stores for a few years but has managed to surpass 50 million downloads on the Google Play store with an average rating of nearly 4 and a half stars. The aim of the game is very simple - drive your car through traffic and go as far as possible without crashing.
The main appeal of the game's mechanics is that the game is easy to play but mastering it takes time. You steer the car by tilting your screen and tap the designated areas of the screen to brake and accelerate. The rate of scoring increases at high speed (over 100km/h), close overtakes and driving in the oncoming lane in Two-Way Endless mode. If you want to improve you skills at your own pace, there is a mode where you can practice but there is no scoring or money to be earned there.
There are various ways to spend the money you earn. Primarily, you would want to obtain more of the 30 cars you can currently purchase with in-game cash (the Ferrari F355 can only be purchased with real money), but the game gets regular updates so that number is set to rise in the near future. Alternatively, you can customise your car with a selection of colours, wheels and performance upgrades. In-game cash can also be used to purchase new environments, including a night setting which enables the player to earn twice as much cash.
