The 4 highly anticipated Racing Games set to rock E3 2015!

The world's biggest gaming convention, best known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), kicks off next week. If there is one event gaming developers and fanatics look forward to the most, it's this one - The show where the biggest announcements in the gaming industry are showcased to the general public. Racing game fans are set to revel this year as four big titles are expected to make a presence in the show. Without further delay, let's get into what is likely to interest the gamer who likes to burn rubber.

Need For Speed

Easily the game I'm most looking forward to, Need For Speed brings back the tuner car culture associated with titles such as NFS Underground. Developed by Ghost Games, the team behind Rivals took a year with no new release to create a title which a significant number purist fans have been longing for. Not many details have been released at this stage but the Need For Speed Reboot is said to contain "rich customisation, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world and an immersive narrative."

Forza Motorsport 6

If any console racing game franchise has been Gran Turismo a hard time, it is the Forza Series exclusively available on Xbox consoles. Now entering its sixth instalment, Forza promises to be the most definitive driving experience you can get on Microsoft's consoles. Xbox Japan has accidentally leaked some features of Forza 6 which includes weather with night time racing, 450 cars, 26 tracks and 24-player races. Bear in mind this is only the tip of the iceberg, Turn 10 has a lot more in store.

Assetto Corsa

There was a post last week about this game, but it is worth bring up again for this article. For PC Gamers, Assetto Corsa is nothing new but has received a positive reception amongst critics and players. In 2016, PS4 and Xbox One users get to experience Kunos Simulazioni's racing simulation, ported over by 505 games. Assetto Corsa on console will feature over 100 cars and 20 tracks including the new content set to be released for all versions of the game announced at E3 next week.

Gran Turismo (7?)

Last but definitely not least, we have the latest instalment of Playstation's flagship racing title, Gran Turismo 7. However, this is the only game which has yet to be announced, highlighted by a question mark after the number. Last year, Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed that Gran Turismo 7 is in development and it will keep the Standard Cars from the Playstation 2 era, in which case we should expect around 1500 cars in the game.

With Gran Turismo 6 still lacking Course Maker, a feature which was supposed to be added after release, there is also chance Polyphony Digital could unveil an upcoming patch for the Playstation 3 title instead. However, E3 focuses on the latest and greatest gaming tech so a big announcment for a seventh generation console does not sound likely at this stage.
